Shipley Travels to Italy

🇮🇹 Last month 13 students and 2 teachers had the trip of a lifetime in Italy! They started in southern Italy at the ancient site of Paestum, with its temples of Athena, Poseidon, and Hera, and museum featuring ancient artifacts. Next to Pompeii, where they trekked the ancient city, climbed to the summit of Mt. Vesuvius, and enjoyed making a traditional neapolitan pizza. In Naples, they appreciated the marvelous art and antiquities of the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli. The final stop of the tour was Rome, where students got to know the city’s many neighborhoods, piazzas, historical sites, and museums, including Trastevere, Piazza Navona, Piazza di Spagna, the Pantheon, the Colosseum, Fontana di Trevi, the Vatican with its Sistine Chapel, and so much more. This trip offered students an incredible opportunity to experience the full breadth of Italian culture, history, art, and more, from antiquity to the modern day!
