The Shipley Rowing Academy, based out of The Shipley School is a fully comprehensive rowing program designed to develop athletes' skill level from beginner to elite juniors and advanced adults. We believe in creating champions on and off the water and we strive to help you reach your goals and maximize your full potential.
The Shipley Rowing Academy has an athlete-focused approach that focuses holistically on athlete development. Embedded in many of our clinics are educational seminars designed to encourage proper sleep, nutrition, and mental well-being habits that not only improve performance but also healthy living. Shipley's Rowing Academy is all inclusive and strives to provide an opportunity for players to go from grassroots to greatness on and off the water!
Scott brings experiences as the Head Coach at Cabrini University, Washington College, Villanova and Vesper Boat Club in addition to experiences at the University of Pennsylvania and Yale University. During his 13-year tenure as a rowing coach he instructed 21 athletes on 6-US National Teams, highlighted by silver and bronze medals at the 2011 Pan American Games, a 2nd place finish in the Elite Women's 4x at Women's Henley and a 6th place finish at the 2011 U23 World Championships. In 2013 and 2014, programs under his direction won the Overall Team Points Trophy at the USRowing Club National Championships. In 2008 he served as an Assistant Coach at Yale University. As an athlete, he was nationally competitive as an Undine Barge Club member from 2001-2008. As a collegiate athlete at the University of Pittsburgh he was the captain and president of the Panther Rowing Club.

2011 U23 World Championships: Lightweight Women's 2x: 6th, The Netherlands, Amsterdam.
2010 U23 World Championships: Lightweight Men's 4x, Lightweight Women's 2x: 9th and 10th, Brest, Belarus.

Athletes perform the best when they are happy, can maintain a low level of stress, have a strong connection with their teammates and feel like they are improving.
