Charlie '24

Charlie joined the Shipley community in ninth grade from Holy Child School at Rosemont. 

Activities and Positions: Winter Musical/Theater, Swim Team, Intermural Squash, Model UN (Co-President), Student Government (All School President), Glee Club, Admissions Ambassadors, The Beacon, Shipley TV. 

Favorite Club: Model UN - I want to study international relations in college so I find Model UN really interesting. I love dissecting relationships between different countries and analyzing their actions.

Favorite Class: Honors Modern World History - Dr. Gillin. History class had never captivated me before Dr. Gillin. She has such a profound way of teaching that makes any topic interesting, which made the class super enjoyable for me. Plus, learning the history of places all over the world, as well as some international current events, really helped my decision to study international relations in college.

Best Thing about Shipley: I think of the community and the life I have built here. Coming in freshman year, I had no idea what to expect, but now I look forward to coming in every day. I get to do things I enjoy with people I love.

What is one piece of advice that you would share with new students? You can do anything you put your mind to.
