Creativity
Creativity is alive in the arts at Shipley. We view art as a laboratory for exploration. We encourage students to reflect and discover how their art will express their skill and growth. Our faculty is committed to ensuring that each student finds his/her individual voice as they develop the fundamental skills in drama, music, and art.

Confidence
Through the Arts, Shipley students, Pre K through Grade 12, have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of classes, performances, lessons, and ensembles. We develop relationships with our students, to develop that level of trust where they have the confidence to take a risk. We understand that students express themselves uniquely through their art (performing, music, or studio) and our role is to continue to challenge and support them to further hone their skills and continue to grow.

Excellence
We believe that art is a skill and the more you practice, the better you will be. Our faculty members are artists themselves (musicians, actors, studio artists) and our performances and exhibits provide examples of excellence and we then show our students the path to achievement. In all areas of the arts, we build skills and experience through the years in our PreK through Grade 12 program. We continually increase expectations, and delight in students’ exuberance when they master media.
The Shipley School is a private, coeducational day school for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students, located in Bryn Mawr, PA. Through our commitment to educational excellence, we develop within each student a love of learning and a desire for compassionate participation in the world.
