Mia joined the Shipley community in ninth grade from Chicago, Illinois.
Activities and Positions: Girls Soccer, Golf (Captain), Upper School Musical, Debate (Co-Head), Model UN (Co-Founder and Co-Head), Service Committee, Admissions Ambassador
Favorite Club: My favorite club is Model UN because it combines my love for history and global studies with public speaking and it allows me to meet new students from all over the country and the world.
Favorite Class: History. I love learning about history and why society has evolved the way that it has. I also love having Dr. Gillin who always pushes me to do my best work and has always supported me in absolutely everything.
Best Thing about Shipley: One of my absolute favorite parts of Shipley is the theater community and how incredible it is to be a part of the musical productions. I love that absolutely anyone who wants to be a part of the show can be, whether you are an athlete, a dancer, and singer, or just an average student who wants to try something new. The musical has a place for everyone to feel included and part of a bigger family which is just so incredible.
What is one piece of advice that you would share with new students? Try new things. Try new clubs, sports, classes, activities, whatever you can fit into your schedule. You may be pleasantly surprised.
