Who was your most influential teacher and why?
The most influential teacher was most likely Ms. Gearhart, because she was always very calming to be around, was very smart, and helped me to become a better writer.

What was your favorite class and why?
My favorite class this year was Statistics. I felt very comfortable participating throughout the class and also loved learning and talking to Mr. Frankel. Mr. Frankel made this class easily accessible to any student who liked to talk or didn't like to talk which was very nice.

What was your most memorable experience at Shipley?
My most memorable experience at Shipley was meeting all of my friends and teachers that I will always stay in contact with. Of course, I love Shipley for the academics, facilities, and many other things but the main thing that I love is the connections I've made with the teachers and my friends.

What does Courage for the Deed; Grace for the Doing mean to you?
Courage for the Deed; Grace for the Doing means that one always has to be their best in any situation and always stand tall above bad people and throughout situations that may bring you down.

Complete this sentence: Shipley prepare me to…
Become an advocate for people who need a voice while also being a leader and someone who gets things done.

How did Shipley prepare you to be your best self and do your best work?
Shipley prepared me to push myself academically while also balancing other activities, which helped me become organized and will be very useful in the future.

How did Shipley encourage you to take risks?
Shipley encouraged me to take risks by pushing me to work harder and even if it fails, I have teachers to help me rise after that and become better which has helped me to push myself in uncomfortable areas.

Please write a short reflection on your time at Shipley and what it has meant to you.
Throughout my ten years at Shipley, I grew a lot. I not only became a better student, but I also learned how to communicate with people better. I overall became a better person due to the amazing teachers and friends that surrounded me. I am so lucky to have grown up in a school that had amazing teachers and a great community. Of course, I'm so thankful for Shipley, but going here helped me notice that there are so many people who don't have this opportunity that I had, and I believe that more people need to be given this opportunity.
