Who was your most influential teacher and why?
Doc Rebholz. He really made me even more interested in math and its applications than I already was. He also convinced me to join the math team, something I thought I'd never do.
What was your favorite class and why?
US History or my English Senior Seminar. They both had great teachers (Richard and Kline, respectively), which is 75% of why a class is good or bad, and the material was also just super interesting to me.
What was your most memorable experience at Shipley?
There are a lot, but one that has stood out recently is my final piece in the jazz concert. We played a song that wasn't on the program, but we all knew well, and it ended up being the best and most fun song of the whole night in our very last concert.
What does Courage for the Deed; Grace for the Doing mean to you?
It means balancing the passion that drives you to begin an endeavor with the control required to complete it.

How did Shipley prepare you to be your best self and do your best work?
Shipley taught me how to manage myself well while giving me high-quality instruction and support along the way.
How did Shipley encourage you to take risks?
By being a relatively open and judgment-free place, Shipley encouraged me to take risks by creating an environment where risks weren't seen as stepping out of line, but more so drawing new ones.
Please write a short reflection on your time at Shipley and what it has meant to you.
When I think back on this time in my life, I will mostly remember the people and how they impacted me. I'll remember the passionate teachers and staff here that I am so lucky to experience daily. While I am excited for the future, I will always be grateful for everyone who was a part in shaping who I am today.
