The Shipley School is pleased to announce that T.J. Ferrick has been named the Varsity Boys' Basketball Head Coach. After an extensive search, we are delighted to have T.J. take the helm of our Boys' Basketball Program.  

 

T.J. spent the last four years as the Assistant Coach at Swarthmore College.  During his time at Swarthmore, he helped guide the program to a 78-11 record, a 2023 Final Four appearance, a 2019-20 D3Hoops #1 ranked team wire-to-wire, a 2023 Centennial Conference Tournament Champions, and two-time Centennial Conference regular season Champions. 

T.J. is devoted to the development and growth of his players and has a clear vision that aligns with Shipley’s mission.  He is currently the General Manager of Pro Skills Basketball, coaching the 17U team, and is the Director of Camps & Events for City of Basketball Love.

 

Prior to coaching at Swarthmore, T.J. was an assistant varsity coach and English teacher at his alma mater Penn Charter from 2011-19. After graduating from Penn Charter in 2006, T.J. went on to play basketball at Earlham College where he earned his B.A. in Philosophy.

I am eager to get to work and excited for the challenges and successes that lie ahead.”
