Academics are Just the Start.

In a world of uncertainties, we prepare your child to conquer them all. At Shipley, your child will experience an education that goes beyond books. They’ll learn the value of individuality and self-advocacy. They’ll understand the importance of a diverse community and how to be a welcoming, contributing member of society. They will be surrounded by caring and dedicated educators who will teach them how to thrive both in the classroom and in the world that awaits them after they graduate.

Lower School

“Who do I want to be when I grow up?”

This is where it all begins, the foundation for your child’s future. As they make their way through our Lower School program, your child will be immersed in classrooms filled with laughter, support, and, of course, learning. Through various subjects and opportunities, they’ll develop valuable critical thinking and social skills. They’ll see how they can use these skills in the world around them while exploring their interests and creativity. This approach to early education will allow them to grow emotionally and intellectually while instilling a lifelong love of learning.

Middle School

“There’s so much I want to try.”

Throughout Middle School, your child is growing intellectually, emotionally, and socially.  Our curriculum meets these changes, allowing them to develop independence while better understanding themselves as learners and as people.

With encouragement from our teachers, your child will explore new subjects and discover new interests. Using the skills they learn along the way, they’ll leave Middle School proud, having conquered countless academic and personal challenges.

Upper School

“I’m finding who I am and who I will become.”

With college on the horizon, your Upper School student has a lot to look forward to. Our college-preparatory program will challenge your child to reach their potential. As they develop a better understanding of how ideas overlap across subjects and interests, they’ll not only gain the skills to become leaders in the classroom, but in the community too. While Upper School is the final step in their Shipley journey, the passions they pursue, as well as the knowledge and confidence they build here, will carry them through college and beyond.

Co-Curriculars

There’s so much more to learning than what’s in the books. We approach co-curriculars as a core part of our curriculum. This helps your child grow into a well-rounded individual while providing them with a sense of exploration and accomplishment.

Athletics

As a student-athlete at Shipley, your child will learn how to get the most out of athletics while still putting academics first. Through Physical Education and championship-caliber interscholastic opportunities, your child will learn the importance of perseverance and the value of teamwork. These skills, and the many more they’ll develop, will help them succeed on the field, in the classroom, and throughout life.

Music

Music is a source of joy, expression, and well-being. At Shipley, your child will be immersed in the musical arts beginning in Pre-K. Through this early exposure, they’ll have the chance to find the form of musical expression that feels right to them. They may thrive singing with a choir, or perhaps they’ll feel at home with an instrument in hand.

No matter their preference, by the end of their time in Lower School, your child will experience the joys, and challenges, of performing. As they progress through Middle and Upper School, they’ll be encouraged to continue to participate in performances, regardless of their skill level. From general classes to private, one-on-one lessons with our talented instructors, your child will have all of the tools they need to grow their love for all things music.

Theater

Theater is not only an opportunity for your child to perform, but to develop skills that will be valuable throughout life. It’s why Shipley lives by the notion that anyone can be on stage. In Lower and Middle School, your child will develop essential skills for performing like public speaking. They’ll then build on those skills in Upper School, where they’ll enjoy the fun and camaraderie that results from working towards a shared vision. Whether theater is a career goal or simply a co-curricular passion, your child will be able to use everything they learn to grow into their best self.

I really enjoy the rigor of the classes, and the added challenge has helped me grow as a student and a person.
Shipley has an uncanny ability to get to know each student as an individual, and encourage them to be the best that they can be.
Nothing made us happier — and there is no greater endorsement — than having our son actually say, "Thank you for sending me to Shipley."
I owe Shipley a debt I can never repay. It has truly shaped who I am as a person. You will not find a school more dedicated to its students.
