Erica Cipolloni, affectionately known as "Coach E," is the Head Coach for the Varsity Softball team at The Shipley School. With 20 years of softball experience, including over a decade coaching elite travel teams, Erica brings a deep well of knowledge and leadership to the program.
Originally from Northeast Philadelphia, Erica attended Nazareth Academy, where her outstanding performance led to her softball number being retired in 2010. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2022. Recognized as the Female Athlete of the Year by the Philadelphia Inquirer in 2010, Erica was one of 42 players selected to try out for the USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team in Chula Vista, CA.
Erica’s playing career continued at the University of Virginia, where she earned a full athletic scholarship to compete in the ACC conference. As an infielder and pitcher, she had two highly successful seasons before career-ending injuries halted her playing career. Despite these challenges, Erica transitioned seamlessly into coaching, sharing her extensive game knowledge, college recruiting guidance, and mentorship with aspiring athletes.
In addition to her role at Shipley, Erica owns and operates EC Elite Softball, a training performance company. She has previously coached with the Newtown Rock and NJ Cheetahs softball organizations, where she developed a reputation for her commitment to player development and team success.
Erica expressed her enthusiasm for her role at Shipley, stating, "I am beyond excited to be the head softball coach at Shipley and continue the success of the softball program. I aim to create a culture that steers our student-athletes into achieving their goals on and off the field. Go Gators!"
With her extensive experience and passion for the game, Erica Cipolloni fosters a culture of excellence and achievement both on and off the field.
